On the Issues

Education
I will advocate for increased funding to improve school facilities, provide up-to-date information, learning materials, and support extracurriculars. We must work to raise teacher salaries and provide professional development opportunities to retain and attract quality educators. As a mother of six, I know that parental involvement is key and better communication between parents and schools is critical to developing high quality educational programs.

Election Integrity
I will advocate for legislation ensuring that only American citizens are eligible to vote in our elections. We need strong voter ID laws to prevent fraud and protect the integrity of our electoral process. Elections are the bedrock of our democratic system and we must take the upmost care to ensure that they are safe and reliable.

Promoting Adoption
I will work to simplify the adoption process, making it more efficient and less costly for families. We need to provide better support for adoptive families, including access to counseling and financial assistance. I firmly believe in the right to life, and along with that I support adoption as a viable option for expectant mothers facing unplanned pregnancies.

Taxes and Inflation
It's no secret that Richland County has the highest tax rate in the state and the 2nd highest foreclosure rate in the nation. Many are beginning to receive their new property tax rate, which on average is $1,000 higher than last year. This doesn't take into account the 6% hike in taxes they plan to make in November. People are already struggling to get by with inflation. It is time to not just stop taxes from being raised but to lower them so our families can continue to thrive and succeed.

Growing the Economy
To expand job opportunities, I will advocate for tax incentives for both individuals and businesses alike so that Richland County can attract new investment and support existing businesses. By partnering with educational institutions, we can ensure that our workforce has the skills that employers are searching for. Meanwhile, our infrastructure needs improvements to support economic activity. By applying a multifaceted approach, we can make Richland County a destination for businesses and a leader in job growth.

Housing
I will work to tackle affordable housing and the ever-increasing cost of living in Richland County. We must retain residents and attract new ones to preserve and expand our labor pool and tax base. Like many Americans, I see the cost of living skyrocket under a Biden/Harris economy that is locking working families out of homeownership and destroying the American dream. We must ensure that home ownership remains attainable for everyday Americans, and I will work hard in the State House to fight against rampant inflation.
